RE: Govt intervention distorts market economics

RE: Govt intervention distorts market economics >>They are emphasizing the poor results achieved by restraining the auction process in other countries, not adding a caveat about lifting existing foreign ownership restrictions. Like I said, I hope they get their wish. Look's spectrum value will go through the roof. If IC does open the market up to foreign investors, you can throw the $1.5 billion valuation out the window. We'll be moving to the right of the scale, towards the $10.0 billion quoted in media a few months back. Again, GLA! Al<< Al, when I read it I interpreted the "reinforced with "existing" competition" part as wanting ownership regs left alone but I definately like your interpretation much better. LOL It does afterall make way more sense for them to want the doors thrown open to "all" potential suitors to maximize their own shareholder value. This Govt definately seems to have the will in order to pave the way for that to happen but running with a minority and opposition parties balking as it would seem, do we have the means? Now if we could have a summer election and get a majority Harper govt. before the fall, that would work. But what's the odds of that happening? Thanks for the feedback. Good luck all. snowtrac
