RE: galliumHi Yakpi!
I met with a guy from the biggest gallium consumer in the US this week, as part of the group that toured Cordero. He was telling me that they produce Gallium Arsenide and Gallium Nitrate, and ship these compounds to companies around the world. He mentioned blue LEDs as one big market, but the cellphone manufacturers represent by far the biggest consumers for Gallium Arsenide right now. He also pointed out that there is no real spot market for Gallium and that its very difficult to source secure supplies, even though the market demand continues to grow.
All of this means that GCU will be a very hot story once they get enough data on record to prove that at least part of the Cordero deposit will be economic. There is a lot of interest from the consumers to step up and participate in the project once we can show that the projected recovery of gallium will be high enough to turn a mining profit. Then its a fairly easy process to advance development. The fact that some of the end users were on hand during the property tour just underlines how strong that support is even at this early stage.
cheers!
