Bayfield Ventures Corp.: Rainy River Diamond Drilling to Commence in July, NW Ontario
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 28, 2007) - Bayfield Ventures Corp. (TSX VENTURE:BYV) (FRANKFURT:B4N) announces that the Company is mobilizing a diamond drill into the Rainy River area of Northwestern Ontario. Bayfield anticipates, after a six week delay on the arrival of the drill rig, that the summer drill program will commence around mid July 2007.
The project consists of three blocks of ground (Block "A", "B", and "C") totaling approximately 1000 hectares. Block "B" (100%) adjoins the Rainy River Resources gold discovery to the immediate East, and Blocks "A" (50%) and "C" (100%) adjoin the Rainy River Resources acreage on the west along perceived strike of geological formation.

Bayfield's Rainy River project is located just north of the Canada - US border in northwestern Ontario about 50 kilometres west of Fort Francis and 80 kilometres south of Kenora. Access and infrastructure are very good with paved road access and power within 1 kilometre of site.
The properties are situated within the Rainy River Greenstone Belt, and underlain by Archean-aged volcanic and sedimentary rocks. The area of Bayfield's primary exploration focus appears to be associated with major crosscutting faults that offset or displace the Mafic / ultramafic rocks controlling the mineralized deposition of gold.
Bayfield has assembled all of the data received from this past winter/spring exploration program. The Company believes that the coincidence of geological structure, bedrock conductivity, and strongly anomalous gold in tills suggest that the drill targets have a high potential to host gold mineralization. The Company is also of the opinion that the moderate to strong geophysical conductors associated with the mafic / ultramafic rock sequences are similar to the #433 zone and the #17 zone on the adjoining property held by Rainy River Resources.
An initial 10 - 12 hole Phase 1 drill program is planned for testing of the structural and conductive settings now evident on Bayfield's properties.
