Victor similarities

Victor similaritiesInvestors deemed the initial diamond results from the two main MacFadyen pipes and Good Friday to be disappointing because of their low stone counts, ignoring the occurrences of some larger diamonds in each pipe. KWG still thinks the bodies deserve a fair shot in a larger test, as the Victor pipe was also a poor producer at the microdiamond stage. KWG recovered just 137 diamonds from about 600 kilograms of Good Friday kimberlite, but two of the stones were larger fragments, weighing a total of 0.031 carat. Those finds suggest the pipe could have a population of larger diamonds that will only show up in larger samples. The story was also encouraging at the MacFadyen pipes, just southeast of Good Friday. Two diamonds in a small test during the mid-1990s weighed a total of 0.065 carat, and a more recent sample from MacFadyen-2B yielded a 0.075-carat diamond. Other small tests of the bodies produced a few more of the larger macros. KWG hopes for a result comparable with Victor, just a few kilometres to the south. The pipe contains nearly 30 million tonnes of kimberlite with a grade of 0.235 carat per tonne. The real story is the diamond value, which is in excess of $400 (U.S.) per carat.
