RE: rhodium
RE: rhodiumAll of the platinum group elements (PGEs) are by-products of nickel production in Sudbury and elsewhere in Canada and around the world; CZZ's undeveloped Raglan properties have about 2.5 gpt paladium and 1.0 gpt platinum along with the nickel and copper, but no mention in their assay reports of iridium, osmium, rhodium etc.
Wikipedia says they have placer rhodium in the Urals, a very interesting mountain range geologically; my favourite gemstone, the Alexandrite, comes from there. There is a bit of placer platinum in Canada (the Tulameen River area in BC); but placer rhodium? That must be incredibly rare.
Direct mining of PGE's is insignificant outside of the Bushveldt in South Afica, and in Russia. I have a substantial position in NRN, a Canadian company drilling now in what's called a "layered intrusion" in Northern Ontario. Layered intrusions are what host the famous platinum/chromitite "reefs" in South Africa.
A pure rhodium mine, though? No such thing in the world. If MAM can drill up significant intersections of 1 gpt rhodium, we should see some fireworks here...
