peafloorIts good to get a healthy civil discussion going. It doesn't mean we have to agree. I have assiduously avoided telling others what to buy or sell. To do so is presumptuous on your part. Better for all of us to stick to posting our opinions about the stock -pros and cons. The latter includes technology and execution. I continue to believe that even technology requires value creation since intrinsic value is hard to establish. I also believe, leveraging technology and pace of commercialization is largely, if not entirely, dependent on management competence and execution. Options- long term expiry breeds lack of immediacy. No incentive or pain for management to excel in the near term. I believe that options should be expunged/lapse permanently every year. Earn or lose. Remember, these options dilute earnings, and cause stock price declines when insiders sell. Also, what do you think is the basis for award of stock options this year- what performance measures were objectively used: number of press releases or eps. Based on the latter CIC stagnated. Remember options are in addition to salary increases, perks and bonuses. I think options should be correlated to enhancement of shareholder value. It seems ridiculous for owners of a business to be forced to put their interests perpetually on the back burner while management is rewarded by an over-generous BOD in the present. I would be happy, if BOD implement an expense freeze to break even and used options to reward employees- but not both- while a company is losing money. AIMHO.
