BURNABY, BC, July 23 /CNW/ - Glentel Inc. is pleased to announce that the company has been awarded the first phase of a project to install fixed wireless broadband services throughout the City of Regina. This phase, including an engineering study and proof of concept, is scheduled for completion in October 2007.
The multiphase project includes the provision of a fixed wireless broadband system to provide multiple city locations with high-speed data services for data acquisition, supervisory control, and video surveillance, as well as to offer mobile data facilities to enable workforce automation services for city staff. The entire undertaking is expected to have a value in excess of $1 million dollars.

The $1.4 million dollar project has an expected completion date of January 2008 and includes the replacement of the wireless communications system infrastructure and user equipment. Fire and emergency medical services as well as transportation, enforcement, and agricultural services will use the system and user equipment.
