Charges filed against former EPS director

BELGRADE -- The police have filed charges against former Serbian Electric Industry (EPS) director Ljubomir Gerić.
The charges include three more former executives of the public power monopoly, who are all accused of being involved in the signing of contracts with two British companies that cost EPS and the Serbian Government a large sum of money.
According to the Serbian MUP, Gerić and the other three executives are accused of committing to business dealings from 2001-2004 with the companies Energy Financing Team (ETF) and Interface, and costing EPS US$ 12.7 mn and the Serbian budget roughly EUR 1.8 mn.
British EFT has denied the claims associated with the company in the criminal charges.
The Inquiry Commission which investigated the case in 2004 was not able to gather enough conclusive evidence to facilitate criminal charges against the companies allegedly involved
