RE: El Teniente shut down

RE: El Teniente shut downIts not going to last very long. The escalated violence will (hopefully) increase police or (better yet) bring in the army. This is not about "oppresion" as some people always retort whenever somebody says the "army" is coming in. Strikers have the right to strike. Nobody Gov't should interfere with that. but when it turns violent and potentially leading to injuries and fatalities then it becomes a criminal act (which cannot be reasoned as striker's grievances or, more absurbly, be blamed on the company). These "criminal" elements should be sought out, arrested, given a criminal record and fired from any jobs related to Codelco. then you'll see the violence subside, but yet providing full rights to worker's to strike. This won't last very long. And the good news is that ARG needs not to be directly involved.
