newsMDN Inc.: New Results on Isambara
11:45 EDT Wednesday, August 01, 2007
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 1, 2007) - MDN Inc. ("MDN") (TSX:MDN) is pleased to announce new drilling results in Tanzania, for projects under MDN's control located in the surrounding area of the Tulawaka Gold Mine.
Firstly, the Isambara licence is currently the subject of a second phase of drilling, representing 4,000 meters by reversed circulation (RC) drillings and 2,000 meters by diamond drilling. To date, approximately 30% of the Isambara target, which measures 5 km by 2 km, has been covered by drilling.
Diamond drillings ISDD-01 to 05 (representing 755 m) were carried out in the principal mineralized zone, indicated as being the 'East Target', whereas drilling ISDD-06 (representing98m) was carried out on another target; the results of drillings ISDD-02, 03, 05 and 06 as well as a part of ISDD-01 are being analysed.
Available diamond drilling results are presented in the table below:
-------------------------------------------------------------
From To Length Grade
Hole m m m g/t Au
-------------------------------------------------------------
ISDD-01 44 50 6 4.92

and 146 147 1 20.1

The mineralization in ISDD-01 and ISDD-02 is found in typical shear zones in the granodiorites. These shear zones are marked by multiple injections of quartz and strong alterations as well as at least two generations of sulphides, dominantly pyrite.
In addition, reversed circulation drillings ISRC-104 to 122 (representing 1,474 meters) tested new anomalies identified by ground sampling and by induced polarization surveys.
Drillings ISRC-123 to 128 (representing569 meters) tested the orientations of the East Target, whereas drillings ISRC-135, 136, 139 and 140 (representing378 meters) tested the extensions of the aforementioned target.

Drillings ISRC-130 to 134 tested new targets and the results are pending.
Because of the nature of RC or RAB drilling techniques, it has proven difficult to accurately determine the true width and orientation of the mineralized intersections. For this reason, diamond drilling was used to verify certain intersections obtained earlier by RC drilling in order to ascertain geological controls of the mineralization and structural directions, and also to recognize the depth potential of the target.
The Isambara licence is part of the Simba project, a partnership between MDN (70%) which is the operator, Lakota Resources (15%) of Toronto, and Jope Business Associates (15%) of Dar-es-Salaam. Isambara covers a territory of 40 km2 and is located 28 km north of the Tulawaka gold mine. The end of the second phase of drilling on Isambara is concentrated on the East Target in order to better understand the factors which control mineralisation and also to verify the extensions. A third phase is planned thereafter.
Other results
Following the first phase of drilling on Isambara realized during the first quarter, access roads to MDN's other major targets, Viyonza and Msasa, were rendered impracticable due to heavy rains. In the meantime, targets of lesser importance were drilled before resuming operations at Isambara in June.
On Mnezeki, a total of 1,736 meters of RC drilling and 1,252 meters of RAB drilling have been completed. The table below shows certain encouraging results in addition to re-analysis (with asterisks) of the drillings carried out in 2006, which had given low grade results.

(i) Re-analysed drilling results of 2006
Drillings were carried out on two adjacent licences located on the Mnezeki project which covers 109,8 km2 and is located approximately 20 km east of the Tulawaka Gold Mine. Although the results remain preliminary, they show the presence of gold deposits of potential significance.
Mnezeki is 100% controlled by MDN. This project was acquired from Tanzanian Royalty Exploration Corporation, which preserves royalty rights on any eventual gold production.
On Kanyindo, a total of 700 meters of RC drilling and 96 meters of RAB drilling were done in order to verify the anomalies identified by ground sampling and induced polarization survey.

100% held by MDN, the Kanyindo project covers 72 km2 and is located approximately 25 km north of the Tulawaka Gold Mine.
All samples were analyzed by fire assay at the SGS laboratories in Tanzania, certified under international standards. A rigorous program of analytical grade verification implemented by MDN included 12% control samples. Drilling was carried out under the management of geologist Laurent Millo, and supervised by geologist Dominique Fournier, Ph.D., who acted as a qualified person in accordance with NI 43-101.
MDN Inc. is a Montreal-based Canadian exploration company that holds a 30% participation in the Tulawaka Gold Mine (Tanzania). Its main exploration activities are carried out in Quebec through gold and base metal interests and in Tanzania through a majority interest in 20 adjacent mineral licenses.
