Mr. Michel Lemay reports
JEAN DEPATIE TO JOIN STELLAR'S TEAM AS TECHNICAL ADVISOR FOR VASSAN PROJECT
Jean Depatie, BA, MSc, geology, has joined Stellar Pacific Ventures Inc. as technical adviser for the development of the Vassan gold property.
Mr. Depatie will assist the company for the preparation and supervision of the exploration and development programs based on his personal knowledge of the Val d'Or gold mining structures.
Mr. Depatie is known in the mining community, with his 30 years of national and international experience in economic geology. He has worked in over 30 countries, and acted as a consultant for organizations such as the United Nations, the World Bank, the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Asian Development Bank, the Canadian International Development Agency and Quebec's Ministry of Natural Resources. He was recipient of an award of excellence by the Quebec Department of Energy and Resources in 1990, and he is also a former president of the Quebec Professional Association of Geologists and Geophysicists.
Mr. Depatie has been president and vice-president of several mining companies. He presently sits on the board of directors of Gold Hawk Resources, Franc-Or Resources Corp., Alexis Minerals Corp. and Consolidated Thomson Lundmark Mines. He was also on the board of Novicourt Mines Inc, now Extrata, and Glamis Gold Ltd. before its merger with Goldcorp inc.
With this appointment, Stellar Pacific Ventures has obtained a major increase in the quality and knowledge of his technical team, now formed by Jacques Trottier, PhD, Mr. Depatie and Pierre O'Dowd.
The Vassan property is located within the Val d'Or gold mining camp, which produced to date over 450 tonnes of gold from 27 mines. The structure is well defined down to the 400-metre level, then it appears to be displaced or split into two or more veins below that level. Partial results from the 2007 summer drilling program indicate that it is still open at depth below the 500-metre level.
The best results form the 2007 drilling were obtained in hole V2007-02.
HOLE V2007-02
From (m) To (m) Width (m) Au (g/t) Cu (%)
620.20 621.30 1.10 13.28 0.96
626.40 628.60 2.20 10.52 0.47
Regrouping the two intersections provided in the table on hole V2007-02 into a single one gives 4.56 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) over 8.4 metres.
Hole V2007-02 was drilled in the vicinity of holes AB-98-01 (16.40 g/t Au and 0.42 per cent copper (Cu) over 1.0 metre, and 7.54 g/t Au and 0.52 per cent Cu over 1.1 metres), V2006-12 (10.43 g/t Au, 6.6 g/t silver (Ag) and 0.64 per cent Cu over over metre) and V2006-13 (16.03 g/t Au over 0.33 metre and 5.86 g/t Au over 0.62 metre).
In 2006, the mineral inventory of the Vassan property was estimated at 385,054 tonnes, grading 5.01 g/t Au, 0.19 per cent Cu and 3.41 g/t Ag within the indicated category. An inferred resource is also estimated at 62,600 tonnes, grading 4.15 g/t Au, 0.10 per cent Cu and 1.32 g/t Ag.
Pierre O'Dowd, geologist and qualified person as per National Instrument 43-101, is responsible for preparing the technical information contained in the release. He is also in charge of supervising the drilling program.
