RE: Misc Re. NEWSThe reason that there has been little work since the 1980's is because the lands surrounding the Hemlo discoveries were heavily explored in the 1970's. I mean this was the richest gold discovery in the world at that time. For years company after company (remembering companies like Interlake, Harlin and Bel-Air Resources) spent millions trying to find something similar.
Of course the land is prospective. So is land around Red Lake. So is land around Timmins. So is land around Rouyn-Noranda. That doesn't mean this is that special. And it doesn't mean the land hasn't already been "picked-over", just not so much in the last 15 years because of years of frustration by many explorers. Hemlo is the only big "gold camp" to being a camp of 1, which although there are 3 operators there is only one orebody that is shared, unlike in other gold camps where there are multiple and totally separate orebodies. It could be that this deposit was a truly freakish anamoly.
The hope is that with more modern technology that another orebody can be found. But again, that can be said of any gold camp.
This is not a reason to be excited. Let's see some real results. Its been a long time waiting.
