RE: comment on news....Misfit,
You are right of course. Ontario has not resolved any and I repeat any major issues with the /first Nations have not been resolved. Ontario keeps putting them off. Quebec and some of the other provinces have settled many of their major issues. Consequently, Quebec has no problems.
You may recall that Don Hoy of FWR is stationed in town here. He brought this subject up to me when I spoke with him at his office. He suggested that there would be a lot more exploration going on in Ontario if the First Nations issues were resolved. He informed me that many companies try to avoid Ontario for that very reason. Directly up North of Thunder Bay and to the East around the Hemlo, White River, Wawa, Armstrong area as soon as they hit anything substantial up pops a land claim by the First Nations. Can't really blame them. They just want their share.
Now if you jump ahead and read Roman's post (mrjack) he has worked up in that area and there are no real problems at James Bay area. The Aborigines get good jobs and they do good work. They are very appreciative of the good wages.
As a matter of fact nwoboy put me on to Benton a while back and I made a few bucks but sold because I have that issue in mind.
Right now there are many outfits drilling this area. I'm waiting for a good strike then we'll see what happens.
On the other hand good relations and its smooth sailing. I can confidently say that James bay will be no problem. Think about this: How would you like to pay 5 to 10 dollars for a head of cabbage? Way up north everything is flown in to many of the reserves and it costs money........
As for your comment about Nickel/copper - it is entirely possible.
You are right about the Alberta First Nations of course. I think BC is advanced as well but this goofy ontario procrastinates. They don't know what their doing half the time anyway. Of course I am refering to the politicians.
I have a feeling we have another Windfall with Burnt Hill for desert........Don
