RE: Are we not overdue to have the sand problemF57,
PBG's presentation in Oslo a couple of weeks back addressed my concerns regarding the sand situation ( see slides 12 thru 15 @ < https://www.petrobank.com/webdocs/presentations/ParetoConferenceFINAL.pdf >)......the sand is easily seperated in the ko drum and literally comes out "steam cleaned" (see top of slides 13 and 14). Note the clean, distinct oil/water interface....no bitumin/water seperation issues that SAG-Ders wrestle with because the gravity of the produced oil is lighter than water....ie, the bitumin is significantly upgraded to a "heavy oil" in the THAI production process. I struggle with the patience aspect of investing (been waiting for GERN to get the cancer cure for years now, etc, etc, still holding onto my 10,000 shares) however, these guys are moving a industry changing technology from lab bench to pilot to commercial in an amazingly short period of time....and dealing very effectively with industry, provincial gov't and banking/financial interests that are not necessarily supportive of their work (Wright's recent comment about the technology being "disruptive" :<)....heck yes, everyone else is burning NG and pushing steam in the ground to produce an inferior prodct at twice the CAPEX and significantly higher OPEX, etc. etc....the SAG-Ders will ultimately be held accountable by their shareholders and it may not be pleasant). Anyway, based on Wright/Bloomers' performance to date, I am quite confident that they are doing the right things and will disclose in a timely manner all the info we need as investors to make the right decisions....I think we're likely to get more good news this Fall....again all IMHO.
Best Regards,
Dave
