Products saving energy at Kapula ResortMicroPlanet (TSXV-MP) - Products Saving Energy at Kapula Resort INVESTOR RELATIONS CONTACT: Gerry Wimmer INVESTORFILE.com T: 416-360-8895 / TF: 1-888-894-8222 E: gwimmer@investorfile.com Newswire link: https://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/archive/September2007/24/c4016.html -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KAPALUA RESORT LAUNCHES ENERGY CONSERVATION INITIATIVE WITH MICROPLANET PRODUCTS Pilot Test Conducted to Save Energy and Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions KAPALUA RESORT, MAUI, HAWAI‘I -- As part of Maui Land & Pineapple Company’s ongoing commitment to energy conservation and sustainability practices, the company has conducted a pilot program over the past six months to test the effectiveness of MicroPlanet products at its facilities in the Kapalua Resort. MicroPlanet is a high technology, energy conservation company that introduced its commercial 3-Phase and residential voltage regulation systems to Kapalua Resort in an effort to reduce energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The results of the first pilot site indicate the new technology is saving 12.87% on kWh consumption and reducing kVAR by 34.48% for the entire commercial building at the pilot site at Kapalua Resort. The equipment is expected to have a payback period of less than three years. Cliff Smith, Development Manager for Maui Land & Pineapple Company (MLP), remarked, “We were very impressed with the results of the pilot tests and see further implementation of the MicroPlanet technology as the perfect opportunity to be true to our vision of wise resource stewardship with the added benefit of reducing costs.” MicroPlanet’s technology helps to reduce the total amount of energy we need to produce by significantly increasing the efficiency of the electric grid. MicroPlanet’s products dynamically manage the voltage delivered to a business or home to optimal levels, which saves energy, lowers electricity bills and helps reduce greenhouse emissions. The products also reduce peak period demand and can improve utility services. “The partnership with MLP is significant for MicroPlanet. It is further validation that our commercial 3-Phase products are being rapidly adopted by clients to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse emissions. MicroPlanet has now installed over 600 systems with clients and in pilot programs that continue to return very positive results,” said Bruce Lisanti, President and CEO of MicroPlanet. MLP, which is developing several new projects within Kapalua Resort, is committed to green building with low-emitting materials, using state-of-the-art sustainable land use management plans and energy reducing power systems.
