Some of the minerials explained ..In core 2

Some of the minerials explained ..In core 2Some of terms they used in the Core for Hole 2 Explained...What metals they are looking at ... For those who wonder what they expect to find ..... Heres an idea... The entire focus is based on the Region and the type of structure that hosts the minerials they hope to find in concentration................ volcanogenic massive sulphide https://earthsci.org/mineral/mindep/depfile/ma_sulp.htm#principal chalcopyrite A major ore of Copper. Common in sulfide veins and disseminated in igneous rocks. Pyrite is the most common of the sulfide minerals. It is usually found associated with other sulfides or oxides in quartz veins, sedimentary rock and metamorphic rock, as well as in coal beds, and as the replacement mineral in fossils. Pyrrhotite forms in magmatic igneous deposits, especially when the rock is of basic or ultrabasic composition. It is also found in highly metamorphic rocks, in hydrothermal veins and sometimes even in pegmatites and sedimentary rocks. Sphalerite is the principal primary ore of zinc. It alters to hemimorphite, smithsonite, and willemite. The impurities gallium, indium, and cadmium make it also the chief ore of those metals. Sphalerite can make a rather attractive specimen as well. On rare occasion it is cut into a collector only type gemstone
