CT drills 36.9 m of 0.75% Ni, 0.33% Cu

CT drills 36.9 m of 0.75% Ni, 0.33% CuHello to all, Castillian drills 36.9 m of 0.75% Ni, 0.33% Cu 2007-10-04 09:12 ET - News Release Mr. David Gower reports CASTILLIAN INTERSECTS 36.9 METERS GRADING 0.75% NICKEL AND 0.33% COPPER, WHICH INCLUDES 7.1 METERS GRADING 1.56% NICKEL AND 0.53% COPPER AT THE MANGABAL SOUTH NICKEL-COPPER DEPOSIT, BRAZIL Castillian Resources Corp. has intersected 36.9 metres grading 0.75 per cent nickel, 0.33 per cent copper and 0.02 per cent cobalt at the Mangabal south deposit, this intersection includes 6.6 metres grading 0.97 per cent nickel, 0.37 per cent copper and 0.03 per cent cobalt, and also includes 7.1 metres grading 1.56 per cent nickel, 0.53 per cent copper and 0.05 per cent cobalt in diamond drill hole CRMS-07-035. In addition, drill hole CRMS-07-036 intersected 20.2 metres grading 0.87 per cent nickel, 0.38 per cent copper and 0.03 per cent cobalt, including 4.1 metres grading 1.28 per cent nickel, 0.96 per cent copper and 0.04 per cent cobalt, and also includes 7.5 metres grading 1.11 per cent nickel, 0.37 per cent copper and 0.04 per cent cobalt. Independent third party resource estimations are in progress with the objective of completing a National Instrument 43-101-compliant resource estimate in the fourth quarter of this year. According to David Gower, PGeo, Castillian's president and chief execitive officer: "We have decided to proceed with the independent third party resource estimates, even though the Mangabal south deposit remains open at depth. As all of the intersections to date have been at relatively shallow depths, ranging from surface to approximately 175 metres vertical depth, it has been possible to cost-effectively drill the deposit in sufficient detail to produce a meaningful initial resource estimate, which can be regularly updated as new drill information is received. Completing the resource estimate is expected to provide the foundation for other scoping and prefeasibility related activities such as metallurgical testing, mining options, environmental base line and permitting issues etc." Castillian is currently preparing samples representing end-member mineralization types for process mineralogy studies, expected to commence in October with SGS-Lakefield Geosol. Assay results for five recently drilled holes from the Mangabal south deposit, including holes CRMS-07-035 and CRMS-07-036, are summarized in the following table (see news issued in Stockwatch dated May 16, April 24, July 4, July 24 and Sept 18, 2007, for previously released drill results): HOLE # Azim Dip Depth FROM TO WIDTH TRUE Ni per cent Cu per cent Co per cent WIDTH CRMS-07-031 315 90 80.15 23.90 35.60 11.70 7.61 0.45 0.70 0.02 incl 23.90 25.85 1.95 1.27 0.95 3.41 0.04 CRMS-07-033 315 45 124.25 87.15 101.15 14.00 14.00 0.57 0.25 0.01 incl 94.85 101.15 6.30 6.30 1.00 0.44 0.03 incl 95.20 99.75 4.55 4.55 1.29 0.30 0.04 CRMS-07-035 315 45 167.00 112.20 149.10 36.90 36.90 0.75 0.33 0.02 incl 114.90 121.50 6.60 6.60 0.97 0.37 0.03 and 130.40 139.15 8.75 8.75 1.36 0.43 0.04 incl 131.75 138.85 7.10 7.10 1.56 0.53 0.05 CRMS-07-036 315 45 117.90 39.80 60.00 20.20 20.20 0.87 0.38 0.03 incl 43.10 59.50 16.40 16.40 0.99 0.45 0.03 incl 46.00 50.10 4.10 4.10 1.28 0.96 0.04 and 52.00 59.50 7.50 7.50 1.11 0.37 0.04 incl 57.20 59.50 2.30 2.30 2.06 0.32 0.08 CRMS-07-040 315 45 120.00 67.50 73.75 6.25 6.25 0.65 0.27 0.02 incl 69.00 73.40 4.40 4.40 0.76 0.29 0.02 Assays are currently pending for 29 additional drill holes on the Mangabal south deposit and will be reported as results become available. Quality control The company employs a QA/QC protocol on all aspects of the analytical procedures. Core samples are sawn and one half of the NQ core is restored to the core box for future reference and one half of the core is sent for analysis. Samples are taken in approx. 1.0-metre intervals or less. Sample preparation is completed at the SGS Lakefield preparation lab in Goiania, Brazil, and assayed at ALS-Chemex lab in Vancouver, Canada, or SGS Lakefield Lab in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, using multiacid digest/ICP-AES and AAS techniques. A blank sample is inserted every 40th sample and standard samples representing a range of grades are inserted at intervals of one in 20 samples. About 5 per cent of pulps are reanalyzed at SGS Laboratory Services in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, or ALS Chemex Lab in Vancouver, Canada. This is the same QA/QC protocol that was employed by Falconbridge (now Xstrata) in operating the project. The quality control and all aspects of the exploration program is supervised by Castillian exploration manager, Joel Hrominchuk, PGeo, who is a qualified person as defined under National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Hrominchuk has reviewed the scientific and technical information in this press release. We seek Safe Harbor. Cheers, I_luv_GVG
