Stockhouse recently announced that they soon will be imposing a new format upon its users. I have taken a look at their new format, and it essentially eliminates two characteristics that have made Stockhouse useful in the past: Ease of navigation, and the clarity of the posted message. There are some added features that arguably are of some benefit, but their addition pales in comparison to the elimination of these other features. From what I understand, the mucky-mucks at Stockhouse are hell bent and determined to go ahead with this new format, notwithstanding the negative feedback that has been posted elsewhere, which must be running 1000 to 1 against their new format. An attitude like that is a little bit like imagining that the captain of the Titanic would have been equipped with modern sonar detectors, but still carried on in its misguided course. I went back and re-read one of my post as it appeared in the new format. So intense is the greed of the new Stockhouse to minimize the content space devoted to the post, they eliminated my use of paragraphs in that post. Since the intent of each paragraph is to build on what came before, and to lay the ground for what comes next, its effect was substantially diminished. Furthermore, since it is always my intent to give credit where credit is due, I was dismayed to see that the hyperlink to a source cited in the paragprah was also eliminated. Under the new format, I will drastically curtail, of possibly completely eliminate my posts.That is really a shame, because I have done extremely well with my position in ML, and could probably retire right now if that is what I really wanted to do. As I understand, the old site will remain unchanged for the next month or so, and that will provide me with an ample amount of time to say good-bye to my old friends who post on this board.
