Are we Here?In September 1998 the Diavik Diamonds Project filed an Environmental Assessment Submission with the Canadian Government. In August 1999 the joint venture feasibility study was delivered to Aber by Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. Based on production of 1.5 million tonnes per year, the feasibility study estimates a capital cost for development of $1,266 million dollars. In May 2000, Aber received a bankable feasibility study concluding that the Diavik Project hosts 25.7 million tonnes of proven and probable ore reserves at an average grade of 4.2 c/tonne. The mine is expected to operate for 20 years.
