No Competition

No CompetitionI found out today that Trimble is no competition with CSI. There simple reason is that Trimble does not make the chip sets that they use in their units. Celestron makes the chip sets. I have had a Trimble handheld Geoexplorer on order for 5 months. It still has not been delivered. There is a worldwide shortage of a single component that is required for the handheld GPS units. This is worry for me. I need the unit now. Communication Systems International has stated the same. But some companies have found a way around this bottle neck. Incidentally CSI makes the GPS equipment for the US military. All US missiles used in the future will have DGPS installed, and all aircraft use CSI GPS devices because of the accuracy of the their hardware. Hertz Inc. is already using the antennaes {GPS} in over 10,000 rentals. Patents pending are wonderful. The advantage is that you can still develop the patent will selling, manufacturing, marketing and distributing the patent. One condition of a patent pending is that you must market and distribute the value entailed in the patent. The product must be sold to the public. That is the reason why CSI has gone public with this information. Anyway the purpose of this post is to let all know that CSI has no competition, {Trimble gets it's chip sets from Celestron] and a patent is valid for 17 years. Go figure!
