RE: AB Panelist Breaks Ranks

RE: AB Panelist Breaks RanksHere's an excerpt from yesterday's Calgary Herald. Reading the quotes in the original Post article, one has to wonder who got to her??: _____________________________________________________________________ Critics were given a boost this week when panellist Judith Dwarkin contributed to a written analysis for her employer, Ross Smith Energy Group, that called the review panel’s findings “overly aggressive” on natural gas. But on Friday, Dwarkin joined other panellists in defending their work. Dwarkin said her analysis for the energy consultancy, where she is employed as chief economist, was not a repudiation of the royalty report. Instead, it suggests refinements to an aspect of the proposed royalty structure on natural gas, she said. “To me, it complements the panel’s report,” Dwarkin said in an interview. “It’s not at all a criticism.” In an e-mail to fellow panellists, Dwarkin said she requested the language of the Ross Smith analysis be toned down, but was overruled. She told them she argued there wasn’t an issue with industry expertise or incorrect methodology. “One of the remarkable features of the panel report is that it reflects a BALANCE of views on a very complicated topic,” she wrote in the e-mail.
