Dear CGG Followers
Really I can't say enough as to how pleased we are to finally be drilling this property. This project was the founding project for Dragon 20 years ago. In order to advance the property it went through a number of joint ventures with major mining companies, which speaks to the geological merit of the property, but the majors never really attacked it with a significant drill program due to political issues rather than geological issues. Barrick got sidetracked by some property in Nevada in the 80's and Noranda in the 90's turned the property over to Hemlo Gold as the gold vehicle, which became Battle Mountain, then Newmont.
We manged to get it back from Newmont and then our ex-partner Mega Uranium has graciously allowed us to run with it. We now own 100% of the property subject to NSR's that can be bought out completely.
The Timmins Camp is alive and thriving with new mines like the Lakeshore Gold Mine, 30km. from our property. Our property has the western extension of the famous Destor-Porcupine Fault, the defining geological structure of the Timmins Camp, but I believe it is the splays or side faults that are the most interesting for the deposition of gold. Our Timmins Property is about the size of the Timmins Camp, but the mirror image geologically.
We have the analagous situation geologically in our Pickle Lake Properties where the Bearhead Fault has much the same potential, but Pickle Lake remains less famous than Timmins, because it is more remote and under alot more "muskeg". Robert Middleton's geophysical prowess will be of particular help in Pickle Lake, and his remarkable knowledge of the Timmins Camp helped set up our current drill program.
Dragon therefore has large, geologically attractive positions in two established gold camps. The attached news release covers the commencement of drilling on one and the completion of a program on the other. We plan extensive programs on both in the future. So if you like gold, stay tuned.
