RE: Rig Leaving Spoke to Kirby
RE: Rig Leaving Spoke to Kirbymcmurphy: Thanks for the clarification. If we knew what the weather would be like in States over the next 4 months, where around 49% of Alberta's gas was sold we would be very wealthy by trading on the futures of NG. It appears that NG started out this week at $8.15 and had dropped to the $7.50 level on a well known chart and settled around the 7.74 level today. As mentioned earlier with the amount of ongoing and planned activity in Alberta, the demand should keep the price up and not freeze out to many Easterners. Some NG price watchers use Henry Hub Gas Price or even Nymex charts as their standard.
Pedagogic: The pipe that you were referring to could have a number of different uses, and mostly for CQV it depends on whether it expanded on the ends to accommodate tool joints for coupling the drilling pipe together (often used and possibly even a bit rusty), or new pipe with collars (often green in color) about 3/8" thick that would connect the pipe together for various types of casing or production tubing. It would be interesting if you or someone else could provide a bit more detail.
Teckoil: It sounds like the Little Port well is a drilling commitment well that might retain the lease in the holders name. At times a lease holder such as Teckoil will drill a shallow well to the first possible hydrocarbon bearing zone and then case or abandon the well, thereby fulfilling its lease commitments until the next phase or deadline date.
