Mineweb talks to managing director Hamish Bohannan about Braemore’s planned series of PGM
smelters in South Africa.

MINEWEB: Wayne, have you heard of a company called Braemore
Resources?
WAYNE McCURRIE: I haven't, no.
MINEWEB: It's quite interesting, and it's been covered quite a lot by
our subsidiary, Mineweb. Tessa Kruger, one of our journalists, and
Barry Sergeant have been covering it quite interestingly. What
they're doing, they're listed on AIM and they're planning to roll out
a couple of platinum smelters on the Bushveld Complex.
We've got Hamish Bohannan on the line now. He is the MD at Braemore.
We thought, given how difficult it is to find smelting capacity in
the country at the moment for platinum, basically the big three have
it as far as I understand, and not very anybody else does. And it
costs quite a lot
to get your platinum smelted. Hamish is that correct?
HAMISH BOHANNAN: That's correct, Geoff, yes. It is an issue with the
PPM industry in the Bushveld at the moment. Capacity is full.
