RE: RE: Cryocor.....FDA approval ???????

RE: RE: Cryocor.....FDA approval ???????

I have to side with cewiser on this. I do not profess to know even 1/10th of what cewiser or inowhy know about these companies. Aside from the science and patents, I can see a few basic points:

1) Cryo is US based, which as cewiser mentioned probably made a difference in the deal. From what I can see, take any comparable US and Canadian company, and the big US corps are buying into the Us based company. As the US gov't used to push, 'buy made in USA'. Theres nothing worng with this, its only human natural.
2) Cryo is traded on Nasdaq vs Cyt on TSX. Nasdaq tends to attract the US institutions---investors are lazy
3) Cryo is stronger on their PR. Comparing the news releases, Cryo has something at least every 2 weeks vs Cyt who has a few gaps. Take out the Cyt anouncments for CIBC and other conferences and is very sporadic
maximum,
4) Both companies are being hit by shorts, Cyt was first and is now on the rise
5) Aside from Theratechnologies, Cdn Bio has had a hard time in the last year DDS, NRM, BVF to name a few. Whether its medical devices, pharma, or biotech, they all fall under the same category
6) As if Bio wasn't volatile anyway, the sub-prime issues and rollover by institutions is taking its toll
7) Cryo will likely be first to finish US AF trials, and first to apply to FDA. FDA was slow to come around on the last PMA—filed July 05, approved Aug 07 (https://www.fda.gov/cdrh/pdf5/p050024a.pdf) ---so will likely hesitate again. This will give Cyt the opportunity to finish its trial and begin the process
8) No doubt US is key market, but with Cyt well established in Europe, this will play a role in convincing the FDA of the merits of their AF product

As we know the market and many investors aren't always rational, but over the long-term the volatility fades and true trends appear. Cyt has been subject to more volatility lately, but this is necessarily a bad thing.

Inowhy, I appreciate your arguments, as it helps to balance my view, but give me something more than: well BSX chose them as a partner. Evryone makes mistakes, even BSX. Only time will tell on this.

my two cents
ifc

P.S. jonmarin if you read this, I'd appreciate your take as well---if I'm not mistaken you have shares in both companies
