Everyone is getting really edgy!I don't often post to this Board. I usually post only if I have a question that I need answered, to improve my understanding of something, or, if I have something factual that I think will help someone who is seeking an answer. However, I feel compelled to make a few comments regarding the current level of dialogue on this Board.
I notice that the tenor of the dialogue has changed dramatically over the last 6 months or so. Everyone seems to be harsher in their commentaries, name calling is prevalent and the quality of the Board has deteriorated in general.
There are two posters for whom I have a great deal of respect (Millright and John E. Strom), and even they are getting caught up in this stuff. Watch your blood pressure, guys! I don't understand why you take as much time as you do to respond to people who do not really deserve your attention. You are not obligated to try to educate these lightweights. And, Milly, I know that you are passionate in your belief in LBE, but I think that you are becoming overzealous in your defense of Gary. Why do you feel it necessary to defend him so passionately?
Of course the real underlying problem with the tenor of the Board, has to do with the greed of speculators/quasi-investors. The stock price has gone backwards over the last six months, and, if you are in the stock expecting that the stock price will go up from day to day, then you have been tremendously disappointed. But, that is a risk that you take in the stock market. The stock price in a good company will likely go up over the long term (not 6 months), but that rise over the long term will be made up of lots of ups and downs. Know yourself first. If you do not have the stomach for these ups and downs, GET OUT! And, don't forget that it your responsibility, and yours alone, to do thorough DUE DILIGENCE. If you are too lazy, or not competent to do this, GET OUT!
I hope that we can all try to raise the quality of the dialogue here, and tone down the rhetoric.
Still a believer in LBE.
