Even in Canada these kind of changes must be declared" I'm not trying to create a rumor that Roche is now buying up shares, but, "hypothetically" If Roche sold all the anonymous shares of late, and, by chance several "arms length" but perhaps "friendly" buyers picked them up, but are well under the 10% holding radar ... well then couldn't Roche today: 1. simply top up their holdings again to permitted levels 2. realize a tax loss, and 3. effectively "store" the sold shares in a friendly third parties portfolio Sure, they don't directly own more than 19.5%, but together the "club house" might be on route to that magical 50.1%. good tradin' -oldtimer p.s. the above post was made for the intended purpose of making DaveAu laugh - I hope it worked
