Providing a buffer at 0.035 may be just a way to protect his investment, but note that he is not buying with a vengance, just waiting for sellers to come to him. He is a multimillionnaire so a few $Ks won't hurt his lifestyle. Remember: if they're hiring it is good and bad news... shows expansion (one would hope it is not turn over!) but also leads to higher operating costs. If the sales forces give a good multiple and the ongoing R&D expenditures remain reasonable, there is hope that they can close the gap and show some light at the end of the commercialization tunnel. Then they could land on the radar of the biggies in the acquisition market. And that would be a very good thing.
