One note on another post regarding big oil and the share buy-backs. They are doing this only because it is cheaper on a per barrel basis to buy their own reserves than it is to go drill for new reserves. Eventuallty of course this will change but not just yet.
Also Imperial Oil who isn't big oil....owned 71% by none other than Exxon!!! Shell Canada another big player bought 100% and taken private buy Royal Dutch Shell. Finally, Suncror Petro-Can CNRL and all of the rest are owned about 90% by US based hedge funds and institutions. Don't kid yourselves that "Big Oil" isnt growing the business.
