I have called/emailed/met with several people about just this issue and out of 10 people, 9 said that DeBeers would not just give money away or waste their time with a little company like this, unless they had something good. The other 1 person said DeBeers gives money away to all companies and takes the best mines(Cannacord talk), so it doesnt make sense. Just because its the biggest company in its league, doesnt mean that money should be thrown around and time wasted for nothing. Keep in mind, DeBeers has a boycott in North America because their diamonds previously were mixed in with blood diamonds and you cant tell where the diamonds came from, otherwise why would they bother mining here when its cheaper/more economical and theres more potential in Africa? They need mines here ASAP so that they can start selling to the North American market, thats why they only put their money into successful juniors, so they can start distributing to a large market that has boycotted them. SNO is a mickey mouse company right now and DeBeers is the largest in its class. Why wouldnt DeBeers go for STA or TAH or any other juniors up there? why not waste another 1 million dollars that they could use elsewhere? Because they are quite confident that SNO will be successful, just from inital signs. As a business man myself, dealing with high end people in Calgary, the big guys just dont throw money around for nothing and thats my point. You only brown nose for a reason, to get something. To waste money in the business world is a stupid tactic and everything is preplanned so that their will be a return on the investment/project. DeBeers didnt even make an agreement with SNO. They just said, we like you place, we think you have great potential, let us send your 500 ton samples to our high end facility and then to Saskatoon and South Africa, and then we will process it, all costs on our behalf, and then we can talk business later. Thats what happens. When you live in a strong business orientated place, and everyones goal is to make money and roll big, you learn these things pretty quick if you want to survive out here.
