Middle East/Sudan potentialWhile I was working out those numbers, I came across a couple of other interesting points. Here they are:
There were approximately 3.9 MM prepaid cellular customers in Canada
at the end of 2006, up 7.7% Y/Y. We believe these solid growth rates should continue as growth in cellular customers (9.6% Y/Y growth in 2006) and wireless penetration rates (only ~58% at the end of 2006, well below most of the developed world) in Canada continue to increase...Coremark, page 82
The total pre-paid industry is currently generating more than $100 billion a year globally, is growing at 30% annually and is transitioning away from plastic cards to electronic payments. Jennings report, page 2
Powered by the Carrefour relationship, Middle East e-Fresh™ software sales should extend throughout the region starting in Q4 FY 2007, a total market more than ten times the size of the United Arab Emirates. This should create significant earnings leverage in 2008. Jennings report page 2
“Sudan represents a prepaid subscriber market about the size of Canada's, but that is growing 10 times faster.” Macaroni1's research
So we're looking at more rapid growth potential outside Canada.
Hmmmmm....
