timing of news
timing of newsThere has been quite a bit of discussion about when a company has to release results. The situation with most juniors is that drill results and the timing of those results can have a dramatic effect on how the company is perceived by investors and how much they will pay for shares. IMO, most companies release news very carefully and it is fairly common practice to release drill results when it best suits the companies interests. I'M NOT SAYING THAT SGX IS WITHOLDING NEWS, but am speaking in general terms. There is enough leeway in the regulations to allow most delays. It is common for a company to hold results while they wait for results from another project.
Notice that NR's always have a positive spin e.g. "the company is pleased to anounce..." and often, crappy results are buried at the bottom of a better news story.
Regarding SGX, I believe that the labs are truly backed up but news is imminent. If news is not released before Thursday, I won't expect any until after New Years... companies don't usually release significant news during the Holidays - JMO.
If an investor believes that news is being unfairly and purposefully delayed by any company, he should contact Regulation Services and lodge an official complaint.
