RE: 70% windfall tax proposed in EcuadorI am sure all CGP shareholders, myself included, have to grudgingly admit that you are absolutely correct. We would only be so lucky to be in the position of worrying about the effects of this windfall tax. Nevertheless, this tax still requires clarification as to whether it applies to gold and copper instead of just oil. Since it mentioned that it only applies to companies that have contracts with the government (currently only oil companies do). I guess if mining companies were to sign such contracts they would be subjected to this tax as well. The waiting game continues. Investing in political backwater countries is never for the faint of heart.
