if
ifYes it is a small word that when not there 'I would be a millionaire' as the old saying goes. Yes the word is 'if', and if the oil is there B I N G O ! !
In semi-frontier work there is always a chance of in present day tense 'a non commercially productive well'.
Most are very confident of a successful SPE 2K-39 well, and probably one of those also believe that there is oil in the 'kitchen' as described in previous information.
As soultexx has described in very abbreviated format there is a lot to consider, although lots of advantages with having an established drilling and production already off shore East Coast Newfoundland. There is a lot of tubulars and casing alreay in the area, as well numerous types of spare parts probably in St. John's. Not everything tool or part is the same for on or off shore, and the same applies for a drilling rig or a service rig. But a swivel joint is a swivel joint, and hoisting elevators can be easily changed out to lift either collars, drill pipe or production tubing. The Nabors rig could easily be used to not only drill the well, but also complete the well 'if' necessary and perhaps may even have too in this case.
