re:IfAgreed Barrhead.
I have seen wells completed with a drilling rig in the past. Not as feasable as a service rig, however it gets the job done, nonetheless.
I may have been on a mini rant in the last post, however I have been waiting patiently for almost seven years for this thing to materialize into reality. I have been involved in some pretty challenging projects in the past, and would like to consider myself fortunate to have actually learned something from them.
One of the key things to the success of this campaign is infrastructure. We are dealing with very junior, inexperienced (some would argue incompetent ;-) exploration companies. In my opinion, they do not have the resources ($$$) to support the requirements of drilling wells in the middle of winter (one of the nastiest in a long time) in a remote location, on the west coast of Newfoundland (my opinion). These would be unique challenges for a much larger, experienced company to say the least. Luckily, some of these larger organizations have developed an impressive industry on, and around St. John's that may be able to support them....maybe.
Also, to Newfie's point, how does he know that Nabors has been paid? Does he work for them? When will the 60 truck loads of drilling rig hit the road, again? Not sure if I'm trusting your sources anymore, bud..... ...to boot, whose is supplying the rest of the services required? Have they paid for all the casing, drill bits, drill pipe, mud, logging tools, casing handling equipment, fishing tools, wellheads, or even sourced these out? Will the companies that supply these issue them credit, or require cash up front. If cash up front is required, you just raised the bar before you can put a bit in the ground to get your SP moving to finance the rest of your operation.
Even if Nabors has been paid, or not, they may move a rig to the rock just to dangle a carrot in the face of any company that has ever wanted to drill a well there since the overall Canadian rig count is on a steady decline, and I'm sure they could use the work.
As far as any of these organizations pulling a rabbit out of their hats on this one, well.... I'm still trying to wrap my head around that. Remember Steve, "You can't BS a BS'er".
PS. My six year old could develop a more informative website than what they currently have. Let's update it with some current information, highlighting some positive progress we are making towards scoring some black gold. The odd news release wouldn't be bad either to keep interest up, and communicate where you are spending our money.
Git 'er done!
