RE: Why the downdraft from $15
RE: Why the downdraft from $15There is no "flaw" or conspiracy, just facts and a few opinions. The double screw is that (1) the REIT paid a lot of money - too much in my opinion - to buyout the management contract, and (2) that unitholders got very bad decision making in return. Paying up for crap, it hurts you doubly.
Before the contract negotiation, Jason had outlined long term plans for growth, acquisitions, etc. After, well, his actions and the results are plain to see. His aboutface was motivated by what? A big gain on the whack of units he just wrangled, possibly? The "advice" mulligan is too generous. He's paid to make the decisions and take responsibility, regardless of what "advice" he may receive. Were you not asking yourself: What the heck happened to the long term objectives that management detailed from day one? Or was that just some more advice?
Yes, it is time "to get over it." However, past performance is usually a good indicator of future performance.
