RE: Bob McWhirter drop VRS as a top pick

RE: Bob McWhirter drop VRS as a top pickMcWhirter, head of Selective Asset Management, was on BNN on November 7/07 with nothing but praise for VRS. A glorious tale of earnings and profit growth and corresponding stock price appreciation. At that time, VRS was his top pick. Therefore it is safe to assume that as of Nov. 7/07, VRS was still a top-ten holding in the Selective Asset Long-Biased Equity Hedge mutual fund (as managed by McWhirter). Yet, indeed, there is no sign of VRS on the Fund's top-ten holdings sheet at December 31, 2007. Looks like McWhirter sold VRS after the big drop to claim the 2007 tax loss. Buy high-sell low... and for this his clients pay a 2.71% MER. What a deal! Thank you Mr. McWhirter for reminding me why I'm a do-it-yourself investor.
