RE: totally stunned...
RE: totally stunned... For the last 3 days the markets have taken a beating and there's a good chance tomorrow will bring much of the same. When Bush announces his "plan" and the rest of the lawmakers in the U.S. get on board, hopefully tomorrow, the markets will start to go back up. Investors are waiting for positive headlines even while they're selling to reduce losses and are praying for good news of any kind. I've been in UEX for a long time, it's been here before and it always went back up. In fact each time it has finished bouncing around I kick myself for not having sold when it's up and buying back in when it's down. I don't believe that UEX is expensive nor that it is "not a large size" compared to other exploration companies but I've an open mind as long as I see some proof. What impresses me about UEX is that a company like Areva would be prepared to invest time, effort and money including $100 ml.x2 for shafts at Shea along with UEX,the fact that Cameco owns a significant portion of UEX, and that UEX's other projects are proving up real positive. I agree that continued good drill results are the key and there is no doubt they will happen. That is what feeds the growth in SP for an exploration and development company but if I felt that things were going to get a lot worse I'd be bailing out and putting my money on the table rather than going to large dividend paying stocks. In fact I have a couple of large cap stocks right now that have always had good earnings and paid a dividend but I would be a lot better off at this point if I had given them a pass rather than buy them when I did and instead invested the money in UEX shares instead. The percentage drop in those so called safe stocks over the past while has been a lot more than UEX's. I consider this recent drop in UEX SP as an excellent time to buy in and even with a recession, the need for uranium, particularly from companies with high grade deposits like UEX,will continue to grow. This is one industry and one company that is'nt going to fade away or be out of favor for long.
