RE: Maya 300 doomed to fail- Reality CheckNortherassador thank you for your support to our argument. You stated:
"What an asinine statement! There are many, many people who drive 200+ hp cars to work and never achieve more than 40km/hr despite the power under their hood. Anyone who knows Toronto knows that many of the Bay St. types live within 10km of downtown but all the cars crawl down Mt. Pleasant, Yonge St., Avenue Rd. and all the other arteries available. Imagine walking downtown and not having to breathe the crap that comes from the endless file of cars idling, going nowhere. I appreciate that EFL is still a dream, but what a dream! "
That's exactly the point. Do you think people who drive 200hp vehicles want one that can't go faster than a bicycle? Pure and simple, you need one that can go to highway speeds to attract buyers. The Japanese have an EV that can go hundreds of KMH.
While I spend 50% of my commute at a crawl, the other 50% is at highway speeds. I want a plug in EV.
I bet 90% of the population will settle for an EV that can go up to 100 KM given the savings and environmental value. I also bet that 0.0001% would settle for an ev like the Maya 300. The disable maybe? Afterall it really is little more than one of those electric scooters that the disable have used for years with a cap on! But then again, those little scooters have cargo space
