Uranium North Appoints Uranium Expert to Board of Directors

Thursday January 24, 12:19 pm ET

Uranium North Resources Corp. ( TSX VENTURE:UNR - News) announces the appointment of Mr. Daniel Faure to the Board of Directors. Mr. Faure brings over 40 years of uranium exploration experience and business acumen to the Company.

Among many accomplishments, Mr. Faure is credited with leading the team that discovered the Cigar Lake deposit during his tenure as President of COGEMA's Canadian subsidiary, S.E.R.U. Nucleaire Canada Ltd. Cigar Lake in the Athabasca Basin is the world's largest undeveloped high-grade uranium deposit.

As consultant to UEX Corporation on the Raven-Horseshoe deposit, Mr. Faure was responsible for reinterpreting the GULF drilling data. He concluded that the mineralization was organized along 3 levels of nearly horizontal uranium lenses up to 30 metres thick, and extending over 1 km. Vertical holes were recommended to assess the mineralization distribution.

While employed by TOTAL Mining and Nuclears' in Australia, Mr. Faure was credited with identifying the Georgetown Inlet in Queensland as having high uranium potential. This ultimately led to the discovery of the Ben Lomond deposit.

"Mr. Faure's depth of uranium exploration knowledge and track record of discovery, namely his role in the discovery of the Cigar Lake deposit, will be a tremendous asset for the evaluation and development of our projects," says Mr. Mark Kolebaba, Uranium North President.

Having directed uranium exploration in the Athabasca Basin for over 20 years, Mr. Faure's first task at Uranium North will be to analyze the Carswell East and Beatty River projects in the Athabasca basin to select drill targets.

"I was attracted to Uranium North based on its highly prospective uranium properties in Canada's most important uranium regions, namely the Athabasca Basins' Carswell property and the Amer Lake Project in Nunavut. I am excited to work with a company that has real potential of finding the next big uranium discovery," says Mr. Faure.

Over the years, Mr. Faure has also held positions with ELF Aquitaine and the French Atomic Commission (CEA) in various capacities, including Chief Geologist and Project Manager exploring for uranium in Iran, Cameroon and Turkey. Mr. Faure held the position as Expert to the International Atomic Energy Association in Pakistan and Egypt. On behalf of the company, we welcome Mr. Faure to our team and look forward to working together.
