FLATFOOT is Rightand its his attitude that is the same as HB's attitude towards CAA for years that is very apparent.
HB couldn't and didn't give a $ht for years about their partner CAA. They just kept cashing the cheques and spending the money.
Now that Jones resigned with NO notice, maybe the attitude toward settling will change.
This is an attention getter
HudBay's stock, which is down 40 percent from an all-time high hit lastJuly, was among the strongest Toronto-listed stock on Friday, chargingahead C$1.75, or 11 percent, to C$17.80 on volume of 14 million shares, about 7 times normal volume.
Rumour is the rather large fund that holds a ton of HB is not happy with the CAA lawsuit and was a buyer of CAA.
Now THIS is completely laughable and totally uninformed BS.

Jan 25, 2008 (The CanadianPress via COMTEX) -- TORONTO - HudBay Minerals Inc. (HBM) shares soaredFriday as analysts bet that a change in management would make themid-tier zinc, copper, gold and silver miner a more likely takeovertarget.
"We are seeing M&As at all ends of the spectrum interms of size, and HudBay would be in-between, so it could be anacquirer, it could be acquired," said Catherine Gignac, an analyst withWellington West.
"I think they're in play because with thesekinds of sudden changes ... obviously, they'd be more open todiscussing opportunities going forward."
The company's sharesjumped almost 11 per cent, or $1.70, to $17.75 Friday, on a volume of15 million shares after the company announced that former chairmanAllen Palmiere, would replace Peter Jones at the helm of the company.
Gignacpointed to Teck Cominco Ltd. (TCK.B) and Lundin Mining Corp. (LUN) astop candidates to take out HudBay in Canada, while a developmentcompany like New Gold Inc. (NGD) is among HudBay's likely targets.
Anyone care to tell Catherine and her readers that 2 rather LARGE stock holders of CAA are also rather LARGE holders of NEWGOLD NGD.
Hahahahahahaha.... HB is going to take out Newgold while some of the same shareholders are basically in court trying to get CAA paid for the last 5 years???
Ya think anyone in the takeover mode might wait to see how the little lawsuit settles???
Might have HB between a rock and a lovely hard place.. Peter Jones doing everything he could privately and publicly to avoid paying or settling with CAA, and possibly drilling past their agreed contract to now have suitors to buyout HB reading a lawsuit with possible damages hanging over ALL their heads and now having to deal with this.
HB is still in delay mode.. so maybe a takeout is in the same position. wait and see... which means their SP sucks.
Yeah, Flatfoot has got it right and only a judge with a verdict or instructions by the court to HB will make a difference to CAA. This may still be a while here, especially if the Manitoba courts are as slow as rumoured.
