RE: Newmont = "Ace in the hole"???

RE: Newmont = "Ace in the hole"???I agree with some of your assessment but not all. For the record, there are no majors operating in Ecuador, just the juniors. Ecuador is a dysfunctional country with a convuluted political system. For starter, who is in charge? Correa or Acosta? They constantly contradict one another and Acosta is the lunatic hawk and Correa throws in his 2 cents now and then. It is like "bad cop and worst cop". Who would have any confidence to invest in this kind of environment. There seems to be a conflict between ideology and economic realty there. Acosta the environmental hawk does not want any mining - period. Whereas Correa, the seemingly more pragmatic president, is welcoming mining, but at his terms - no open pit, royalties, windfall tax, confiscation of mining concessions, etc. Where do we go from here, who knows. One thing I do know is CGP's share price is now at $0.285 after a brief sign of life. We are bleeding to death again. What now Mr. McKay?
