Oncolytics Biotech Inc T.ONC

Alternate Symbol(s):  ONCY

Oncolytics Biotech Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company. The Company is focused on developing pelareorep, an intravenously delivered immunotherapeutic agent that activates the innate and adaptive immune systems and weakens tumor defense mechanisms. This compound induces anti-cancer immune responses and promotes an inflamed tumor phenotype turning cold tumors hot through innate and adaptive immune responses to treat a variety of cancers. This improves the ability of the immune system to fight cancer, making tumors more susceptible to a broad range of oncology treatments. The Company’s primary focus is to advance its programs in hormone receptor-positive / human epidermal growth factor 2- negative (HR+/HER2-) metastatic breast cancer and advanced/metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma to registration-enabling clinical studies. In addition, it is exploring opportunities for registrational programs in other gastrointestinal cancers through its GOBLET platform study.

RE: From the horses mouth.

RE: From the horses mouth.Agreed.Your post brought to mind Dr. Patrick Lee, one of the original researchers involved with ONC in Alberta, now at Dalhousie University and involved in research into the use of viruses as anti-cancer agents when he was interviewed by Macleans magazine a couple of years ago about his work and about the reovirus. One thing that stuck with me about that article was Dr.Lee's reluctance to say anything certain about any real progress with the reo-virus, even though the interviewer seemed to want to pin him down to make some positive predictions . I thought at the time that, as he should, he just did'nt want to jump to conclusions or predict the future when the research had'nt been proven to a certain point. So when a scientist does comes up with a positive statement I'm encouraged also.
