RE: Nabors Rig #45 - HUGE RIG

RE: Nabors Rig #45 - HUGE RIGNabors 45 is a Triple(will stand three stands of pipe in the derrick) with room for a TopDrive (If they pull up to start a new leg, they can grab a stand of three pipe and commence drilling ,no need to lay the pipe back out on the racks one by one ("come out sideways" this takes time)45 has tall subframe(rig stand if you will)tall enough to accommadate an RBOP(rotating blow out prevention unit)to aid and speed up drilling high pressure wells such as a gas well. The rig itself is similar in structure to 375 but will have quite a few more skids(metal building and fluid tanks). When you think about the size and parts of the rig and the loads it will have to be broken down into to fit on highway trucks for such a long run, not to mention support equipment like RBOP,TopDrive,Directional tools, survey tools, drill pipe, lease shacks for the cunsultant,push,d- drillers, geologist, crew, and a lot of extra parts just in case. Well you see what I mean. This move is a little different than just moving up the road a few miles using 10 trucks. This rig size is a good choice for this type of hole and is not overkill or to small but will never drill 12000 metres in depth as mentioned earlier. The draw works (pulley system in the derrick) would be overworked. Sorry for the long story, but it is a long list.
