RE: If dry or non-commercial

RE: If dry or non-commercialHi jake1444 I have done both types of perforating offshore. Wireline and TCP (tubing conveyed perforating). I have never done a DST offshore. All the operators I worked with considered them to be not safe. Remember the old rule- Courage is directly proportional to the distance from the wellbore squared. DST's are done on land because there is someplace to run. DST are not done offshore. To many things can go wrong and there is no place to run. I maybe wrong on this but I have never heard of a DST offshore. Note to Voodoo - Range 3 casing which is what is used offshore is 45 feet long. 7000 feet of casing would not even make that supply boat break a sweat. If I were to take a guess that boat could haul all the 13 3/8", 9 5/8" and 7" casing plus the tubing string for a 7000 foot well plus 100,000 lbs of cement plus 100T drill water and 100T diesel all at the same time. Remember a rig this size uses about 10T of diesel a day when it is drilling so it needs big boats to keep it supplied. Regards
