Aricept fails to slow progression of AD
Researchers conclude Acetylcholinesterase inhibitor drugs are unable to slow progression from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to dementia. https://www.alzforum.org/new/detail.asp?id=1699 Like we didn't know that.....
These AChEIs are the current drugs with wide spread Rx use such as Aricept---Exelon---Reminyl---etc. https://www.cnsforum.com/imagebank/item/Drug_neostig/default.aspx These are drugs with only a Symptomatic Labelling and do not slow progression of the disease but just helps memory a bit for a short period of time with a suspect risk/reward abstract from a safety point of view.
MCI a tough Indication to target but lots of studies and precedents for Transition & ELAN to sift through whilst researching for their AZD-103 Phasell in MCI or Pre-Alzheimers as Dr. Cruz calls it.
