RE: PACER file/redcoatsSince the U.S. subsiduary is an independent unit I can understand why the parent (i.e. its CEO) would want to distance itself from that mess. Let the head of the U.S. subsiduary get nailed with the suit. That way the parent's management get to keep their bonuses.
Much of this legal sparing and delaying has to do with personal compensation and career optics; if you can delay for 12 - 18 months, you might find a new position with another company and never have to look bad on paper. You spend a couple of million "defending the honour of your company" then split before you have to justify a $50 million settlement (or judgemen)t against you.
In the end, WIN will be paid before going to court. It will take time
