Purchase of Sunrise CompleteMar 04, 2008 16:56 ET Viterra: Hi-Pro Feeds Closes Purchase of Sunrise Feed REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - March 4, 2008) - Viterra (TSX:VT) is pleased to announce that Unifeed Hi-Pro Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary doing business as Hi-Pro Feeds has concluded its purchase of Sunrise Feed, LLC in Cheyenne and Elk City, Oklahoma. The transaction closed today. The acquisition includes a feed mill with 100,000 tons/year capacity and a retail outlet in both Cheyenne and Elk City. Sunrise Feed manufactures and sells beef, horse and other animal feed and pasture supplements into the rancher market. The transaction will allow Hi-Pro Feeds to service its current markets and the expanded markets served by Sunrise Feed more efficiently. Viterra now markets approximately 1.7 million tons of feed and ingredients to livestock, poultry, and dairy customers through Unifeed in Canada and Hi-Pro Feeds in the USA. Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Inc., doing business as Viterra, is Canada's leading agri-business, with extensive operations and distribution capabilities across Western Canada, and with operations in the United States and Japan. The new company is diversified into sales of crop input services and equipment, grain handling and marketing, livestock feed, agri-food processing and financial products. These operations are complemented by value-added businesses and strategic alliances, which allow Viterra to leverage its pivotal position between Prairie farmers and destination customers. The Company's common shares are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol VT.
