Diavik reserves revised downward.https://www.federalreserve.gov/newsevents/press/monetary/20080316a.htm The Canadian Press Harry Winston Diamond Corp. says proven and probable ore reserves at the Diavik mine in the Northwest Territories are now 21.7 million tonnes, down from 25.7 million, after four million tonnes were removed. The Toronto-based company, formerly Aber Diamond, said yesterday that, before the start of commercial production at Diavik, proven and probable ore reserves stood at 25.7 million tonnes, or 106.7 million carats. Four million tonnes of reserves, or 11.7 million carats, have since been removed in the A-21 kimberlite pipe zone, leaving start-up reserves of 21.7 million tonnes, or 95 million carats. As of Dec. 31, the reserves were 21.9 million tonnes, after 10.1 million tonnes were mined since commercial production began in August 2003.
