E.coli is spreading here too

E.coli is spreading here tooHere's an article from CP last weekend regarding E.coli found on beef ina Guelph packing plant. They wouldn't comment on the amount of beef affected. E. coli found in tests on beef at Guelph packing plant Beef at a Guelph packing plant has tested positive for a strain of E. coli bacteria known to make people ill. A Cargill Meat Solutions Ltd. spokesman says the discovery last week of E. coli 0157:H7 at the plant is a rare occurrence. Mark Klein says the test result indicates the company's screening process for the harmful bacteria is working. Klein says the company tests for E. coli in what is called trim, the smaller meat remnants from the butchering process that are used to make ground beef. The trim is not processed until the tests are concluded and the results known. Klein says he doesn't have figures for how much meat product was rejected as a result of the test.
